R&D Committee was formed by the Foundation for Science and Arts (Bilim ve Sanat Vakfı www.bisav.org.tr) to establish İstanbul Şehir University. “Research-Development Group” was consisted of strong, young and dynamic academics. Research and Development Group continued to discuss which disciplines in the university must be represented by what kind of structure, actors and processes and, accordingly, prepared “foundation reports” for different departments to form a basis for the subsequent academic organization of the University. It is responsible to prepare the all infrastructure of the establishment, preparations of application to Higher Education Council of Turkey and preparing reports on such issues, university concept, academic and administrative structure, student affairs and campus life and so on.
